Sajama Nacional Park owes its name to this mountain. This extinct volcano is the highest peak in Bolivia. It is around 100 m higher than Illimani in the Eastern Bolivian Andes. This is no doubt a beautiful climb. 

5 to 6 days above 3500m or a 3 day acclimatising trek is needed  

Programme.-

1st day.- 06:30 Departure from your hotel in private transport to Sajama village and on to the
starting point. 5-6 hrs drive

After lunch we will start our trek on sand to the base camp.

During this walk you will enjoy one of the best dusks in the Altiplano. 3 - 4 hrs walk

2nd day.- Just after breakfast we will head up to high camp  Then just like all of the other climbs we will have sometime to save energies for the last ascent  5 – 6  hrs walk

3rd day.- Our guide will wake you up at 01:00 a.m. after a couple of sandwiches and a strong coca tea, we will start our way to the top (5 to 6 hrs). Not a technical climb . After a while at the top, we will descend straight to the high camp.  Afternoon to recover.

4th day.- Final trek to the base camp and  hot springs

5th day.- Drive back to La Paz

Late arrival in La Paz and transfer to Hotel

*Times for departures, meals and activities may vary as they depend on different factors. The guide will tell the group every morning about the day programme.

18 people max.  02 min. per group.(1 guide every 2 people)

Accommodation: 4 nights tents,  camping mattress, sleeping bag, Plastic boots, crampons, harnesses, ice axes, head lamp, jacket, trousers, gloves, balaclava, fleece, underpants, meals 4 B- 5L- 4D, private transport La Paz - Sajama - La Paz, 1 certified guide every 2 people, assistant in case of 2 climbers, mules 15  kgs weight limit per person.

See the difference:

We are the only company in Bolivia to provide an assistant when there’s two of you. That’s in case one of you gets ill during the ascent, the assistant goes back to the camp with the ill person. The other one will keep on going with the guide to the top. We don’t want people getting frustrated!!

*Walking sticks, *sun glasses, purification pills, water, *water bottle, drinks, cigarettes, snacks, entrance fee-50 Bs, tips..

*Some items not included can be rented from our company.

AVAILABLE:  English Speaking guide or translator (additional 40 usd to be paid by the whole group, not per person) when ever we have one request for English Speaking guide or translator, the rest of the group will pay for it.

PORTERS, MULES, DONKEYS?

If you have more luggage than our weight limit (15 kg), you will have to hire another mule at an extra cost.

COOK?

Our guide is the cook at the same time

FOOD?

Big meals are breakfast and dinner. We provide massive sandwiches for lunch though.

LUGGAGE ?

You must bring all of what you can for the entire programme.
