Illampu is another extremely demanding mountain. Experience on ice climbing is essential along with a very good body condition. If you are a beginner we would strongly advice to take first a few mountains like Pequeño Alpamayo, Huayna Potosí and Condoriri to be ready to undertake Illampu. Despite its difficulty, it is one of the most spectacular climbing expeditions in Bolivia.
You have to be well acclimatised
